In Austrian schools, religious education is compulsory for students who profess a confession of faith. However, it is possible to withdraw your child from religious education and have them attend ethics classes together with students who do not profess a confession . (Please note: Religious education for faiths other than Roman Catholicism may take place at a different school location!)
