Dear students, dear parents!

We are happy that you are interested in our International Study Programme (ISP). The Theresianum academy is a school with a great history that provides its students with excellent education, ample learning, sports and leisure facilities as well as a wide range of cultural activities. We highly promote good behavior, courtesy and striving for optimum academic achievement. These are qualities we expect from all our students.

In Austrian schools, religious education is compulsory for students who profess a confession of faith. However, it is possible to withdraw your child from religious education and have them attend ethics classes together with students who do not profess a confession . (Please note: Religious education for faiths other than Roman Catholicism may take place at a different school location!)

An appointment for the necessary admission interview will only be scheduled once all the required documents have been submitted. If you do not yet have a letter of recommendation yet, you can send it at a later date by e-mail to internatsleitung@theresianum.ac.at.

Health insurance

Comprehensive health insurance is a prerequisite for admission to our school. EU citizens and Swiss citizens are covered by the European Health Insurance Card. Third-country nationals must provide proof of comprehensive health insurance that meets the requirements of Austrian immigration law.
I confirm that my child has the necessary insurance coverage and will carry the relevant proof (insurance card/policy) with them in the event of admission.

School holidays 2026-27

The boarding facilities are closed during school holidays (Autumn break: October 24, 2026–November 2, 2026; Christmas break: December 24, 2026–January 6, 2027; Semester break: January 30, 2027–February 7, 2027; Easter break: March 20–29, 2027; Summer break: July 3, 2027 onwards). Students must leave the boarding school by 6:00 p.m. on the last day of school before the start of the break. Return to the boarding school may take place on the last day of the holidays from 1:00 p.m. at the earliest and by 10:00 p.m. at the latest.
I confirm that I have read and acknowledge the information regarding vacation periods and the necessary departure and arrival schedules.

Financial / Programme fees

The registration fee for the ISP is €180 and must be paid immediately after registration. The cost per semester (5 months) will be €10.880 from September 2026 (subject to change). If your child is accepted into the ISP, please transfer the fees to the school account at Raiffeisenlandesbank NÖ-Wien by the end of June 2026 (for the winter semester) / end of December 2026 (for the summer semester). Additional costs may arise for activities as part of the compulsory cultural program.

Visa/residence permit

EU and Swiss citizens are exempt from visa requirements for stays in Austria. However, please note that according to §53 NAG, EEA and Swiss citizens staying in Austria for more than 3 months must apply for a registration certificate in person at Magistratsabteilung 35. Third-country nationals require a valid visa or residence permit to stay in Austria, which must be obtained before entering the country. Parents are also responsible for ensuring that visas/residence permits are renewed in good time. The Theresianum academy accepts no responsibility for violations of the Austrian Immigration Act.
