Cultural Trip to Bratislava

Cultural Trip to Bratislava

Under bright sunshine, the students of the International Study Program (ISP) visited the Slovak capital, Bratislava, on Saturday, October 3rd. A tour of the Maria Theresa Monument in the Presidential Garden, St. Martin’s Cathedral - the coronation church - and the castle complex, which once housed the Habsburg Palace, was, of course, a must-see during a visit to the city where Maria Theresa became the only woman in history to be crowned Queen of Hungary. During a stroll through the city center, the architectural landscape - ranging from Gothic to modern - offered a glimpse into the city’s history, punctuated by statues such as the well-known “Čumil.” A visit to the “UFO” provided the opportunity to experience the city from a bird’s-eye view before the day trip concluded with a traditional Slovak meal.

Five people are seated around a table in a cozy restaurant, sharing desserts. A chandelier hangs overhead, and other diners are seen in the background.
