Admission & costs
We are pleased about your interest in our secondary school. You can register your child with us from the 2nd grade of elementary school. A transfer to a higher class is also possible under certain criteria, as indicated further down on this page.
Requirements for admission to the 1st grade
- Excellent primary school certificates
- Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
- A very good impression during a personal interview
- Social skills and the willingness to become an active member of the Theresian community
- An early registration appointment can be advantageous (possible from the 2nd grade of primary school)
Costs
2025/26
School with day care:
€ 890,-- per month for EU citizens (10 x per year)
including lunch and snack
School with boarding:
€ 1,419,-- per month for EU citizens (10 x per year)
including meals
€ 180,-- processing fee
Scholarships
Scholarships can be applied for at the following institutions:
- Maria Theresien Foundation (from the 2nd grade AHS)
- Freiherr von Kirchberg Foundation
- Welfare Fund of the Federal Executive

Pre-registration
Register your child through our online form. This is possible from the 2nd grade of elementary school. You will receive a confirmation from us. There is no further need for action on your part for the time being.

Elternführung
If your child attends the 4th grade of elementary school, you and, of course, your child will be invited to our information event "Parents' Tour" taking place in October. You will have the opportunity to view the facility, speak with the principal, the boarding school director, as well as many teachers. Only then will you decide whether you want to enroll your child with us.

Parent´s tour
The Theresianum is a special place and a special school: from the historical premises, its centuries-old tradition up to its claim of pedagogical excellence. The annual tour allows parents and children of future 1st form classes the chance to get to know the Theresianum. All areas of the school and boarding house are shown.
The tours are given in small groups and give parents and children the opportunity to ask questions and to clarify expectations. All groups are shown the school by current teachers.
Conditions of admission for older students (from the 2nd to 7th form)
- Submission of the last two school report cards (German translations)
- A list of the previous school career
- A very good understanding of German both written and spoken
- Knowledge of English, French and Latin:
- English or French from the 1st form
- French or English from the 3rd form
- Latin from the 4th form
- Very good grades
- A good impression at a personal interview with the headmaster
- An available place in the appropriate school year
